Gospel Music’s sound has absolutely nothing to do with gospel music. Black Kids bassist Owen Holmes is the man behind Gospel Music and the band has released a debut LP on Kill Rock Stars, How To Get To Heaven From Jacksonville, FL, with tunes that bring to mind Magnetic Fields and Moldy Peaches. Jaunty acoustic pop twee songs about love, heartbreak and social awkwardness with a bit of a tongue and cheek humor.
